First head over to Nazarenes Help Haiti and Haiti Water Project
More projects from across the Caribbean will continue to be added in the coming weeks.

Talk.

Raise awareness about the need for water in Haiti and the ways we can all get involved.

Join the cause on Facebook and invite your friends.

Spread the word, just talking about it with people you know could be enough to inspire them to get involved in God’s call for action.

Act.

Nazarene Compassionate Ministries has projects across the Caribbean that you can get involved in right where you are. Child development centers in the Dominican Republic have children in need of sponsorship. Sponsor a child. Or you can come to the islands. Haven of Hope in Trinidad needs teams to minister to persons living with HIV/AIDS and teach prevention education. If you are interested in bringing a group, please contact the Caribbean NCM office at ncm@caribnaz.org.

Give.

Nazarene Compassionate Ministries relies on donations to accomplish the work God has set out for us. You can help by coming up with creative ways for people to give.

  • Give Up Your Bottles. In the U.S. we spent $15 billion (yes, billion) on bottled water last year. That’s enough money to supply clean water for all of the 1.1 billion people in the world who don’t have access to safe water. Give the money you would normally spend on bottled water in a month to the Haiti Water Project and share the gift of clean water.
  • Host a benefit. Showcase your talents (and/or those of your friends) and use the proceeds to partner with HWP. Make it a concert or writer’s night or photography exhibit.
  • Organize a fundraiser to help raise money for wells in Haiti. If you’re into running, you could do something like a community-wide 5K race. If you’re a creative designer type, you could sell T-shirts you design. The possibilities are as limitless as your imagination.

Pray.

Pray for people in need in the Caribbean. Pray for those ministering to them. Pray for children, families, and churches. Ask God how you can be a part of the great work He is doing in the Caribbean.

And believe that with a little work we can all make a difference.
